As any resident of Winnetka who has survived this brutal winter knows, it is essential that your car runs well in frigid conditions. This is why, when testing prototypes of new vehicles, Land Rover ensures that they are tested in cold weather before they are released. The newest vehicle to be spotted testing in this cold weather was the 2015 Land Rover Freelander.

Dressed in digital camouflage, the 2015 version of the Freelander is larger than its predecessor. Despite the company's best efforts to hide its appearance, we can tell that the Freelander has a stylish exterior that borrows cues from the vehicle that's making waves in Winnetka and Northbrook, the Range Rover Sport. From the spy shots, we can tell that the car will have an angular front fascia, swept back headlights, and a clamshell hood. This crossover SUV will also feature a sloped roofline, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, bright and distinctive LED taillights, and a dual exhaust system.

Here at Land Rover Winnetka, we also know that the new Freelander will be offered with the new nine-speed automatic gearbox that is found in cars such as the 2014 Range Rover Evoque. It will also feature the well-received Haldex 5 four-wheel-drive system that is controlled by a version of the Terrain Response 2 system. What all this means is that the Freelander will be equally suited for on and off-road driving.

Other specifications are as shrouded in mystery as the spy car that was spotted, but needless to say, we trust Land Rover to make a great vehicle. After all, they have a great track record. Expect to see the 2015 Land Rover Freelander on our lot later this year.
