Anybody who has been lucky enough to get behind the wheel of a Land Rover vehicle can tell you that these are vehicles that are focused on cutting-edge technologies. From the new Land Rover LR4 to the 2015 Range Rover Evoque, Winnetka and Northfield residents are always thrilled to hear about the new innovations that Land Rover is cranking out. The newest ones that we have heard of here at our Northfield Land Rover dealership are set to improve and revolutionize how drivers will interact with their Land Rover vehicles.

The two new technologies are involved with what's known as the 360 Virtual Urban Windshield System, which is set to change the way that Northfield residents get around town. First up is the Transparent Pillar system, which uses a combination of cameras and display screens embedded in the A, B and C roof pillars to make them virtually disappear. The roof pillars would usually act as an obstacle blocking visibility, but with this technology, they would instead display to the driver what is going on around them. In short, the 360 Virtual Urban Windshield will make it easier than ever to look around in all 360 degrees, helping eliminate blind spots for good.

The other technology that Land Rover revealed is known as the Follow-Me Ghost Car Navigation system. Also embedded in the heads-up-display this technology is reminiscent of a video game, in that it projects a “ghost car” on the windshield that the driver can follow instead of listening to turn by turn directions. Without a doubt, this is one of the coolest, most futuristic technologies that we've seen yet.
