Here at Land Rover Northfield, we see a lot of excellent vehicles, which is simply what happens when you are a Land Rover dealership. But there are some people out there who are always looking to get more out of their Land Rover by pushing it to the absolute max. One such group is Wildcat Automotive, which has recently created possibly the greatest Land Rover vehicle ever to grace our shores.
Wildcat Automotive was inspired by fellow vehicle tweaking group Bowler Motorsports, an organization that has been making high-performance Land Rover vehicles for the Dakar rally for years now. Gearheads liked these modified Land Rover vehicles so much that it led to “Top Gear” host Richard Hammond proclaiming that he felt like a god when behind the wheel Bowler's racing Land Rover Wildcat.
Wildcat Automotive's version of the Land Rover adds a new sports car dimension to the Land Rover off-road ruggedness. The engineers somehow managed to cram a 6.2-liter LS3 small block V8 taken from a well-known sports car under the hood of a Land Rover. The result of this transformation is a vehicle that puts out 430 horsepower while being able to traverse all types of terrain. With additional performance upgrades, the horsepower figure reaches an astounding 530.
Although these souped-up vehicles will just be used for racing purposes, there will be slightly toned-down road-going versions available for people with a 2015 Land Rover Defender. Additionally, gearheads will also appreciate the upgrades to the suspension system, wheels, and brakes that handle the newfound muscle car speed.
