Land Rover is in the midst of a transition. While the classic Land Rover vehicles were known for their off-road durability and sheer power, new Land Rover vehicles, such as the Range Rover cars Chicago-area residents are raving about, are gaining unprecedented amounts of interior sheen and luxury. Even though Land Rover has always been an automaker known for its luxury, its new models are pushing the boundaries of technological innovation, while also retaining the durability for which Land Rover vehicles are revered.

Here at Land RoverWinnetka, we are pleased to announce that the newest technological innovation out of the Land Rover camp is a new infotainment system. This revolutionary technology promises “one user experience” that allows drivers to bring their music, contacts, and smartphone apps into their new Land Rover as seamlessly as possible. Entitled the In-Control Apps System, the technology was unveiled by Land Rover and partner Jaguar at the Consumer Telematics Show in Las Vegas.

In-Control comes packed with a suite of apps, including navigation, Internet radio, live traffic, parking information, news, and much more. The technology is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, and is easy to use, thanks to a smartphone-like interface that has pinch and scroll functionality, which will provide a familiar experience for people used to popular smartphones. In fact, one of the goals of the engineers who created the interface was to mirror the experience that a smartphone provides, making it simple for a user to navigate.

Pricing and further details of In-Control Apps were not announced at the Consumer Telematics Show, but needless to say, here at Land Rover Winnetka, we are excited about the possibilities that come with this new technology.
