The moment you get behind the wheel of a Land Rover, it seems like you've transported five years into the future. Test drivers here at our Northfield Land Rover dealership have commented to us that driving a Land Rover vehicle is nothing like driving any other vehicle, likely thanks to the vast array of futuristic technologies that the automaker includes in all of its vehicles. The latest news out of Land Rover headquarters involves its vehicles getting even more futuristic.
Anybody who has even bent the rules and tried to use their smartphones to send a text or change the songs while driving will tell you that it wasn't a good idea. In addition to being incredibly unsafe for you and for fellow motorists, it could lead to sending texts that you didn't mean to send. If you're one of those drivers who likes to multi-task while behind the wheel, Land Rover has a solution for you. In early 2015, the company will be releasing a technology known as justDrive, a smartphone app that integrates multiple functions into a single voice-controlled system.
Starting early next year, Range Rover vehicles, including the 2015 Range Rover Sport Northfield residents love, will come standard with the justDrive technology. Additionally, the app will be backward compatible with any current Land Rover car that uses CloudCar's InControl system, which just started being available earlier this year. In order to work the app, if you want to play a song, you would simply say something like, “play 'Bohemian Rhapsody,'" and you will be rocking out without even having to touch anything. Of course, this is only one of the myriad of function that justDrive is set to offer. We can't wait to test out the rest of them!
