A few months ago on our blog, we gave an overview of the then-upcoming 2014 Great Divide Expedition, in which a team of people driving Land Rover vehicles went on a journey across the wilds of North America. The Great Divide Expedition was actually a rehash of the event that first occurred in 1989, in order to celebrate its 25th anniversary as well as show off the off-road prowess of the modern Range Rover. Well, the Great Divide Expedition has been completed, and the Range Rover vehicles that were the real heroes of the quest were recently lauded in a write-up about the event by Kelley Blue Book.
Here at your home for a Range Rover Sport for sale, Highland Park and Winnetka residents are treated to a huge selection of new and used Land Rover vehicles. We are thrilled to hear the expedition was a massive success, as we have always known that Range Rover vehicles are meant to traverse terrain where no vehicle has ever been before. The writer of the piece for Kelley Blue Book stated that some portions of the trip were exceptionally technical and that the guides that rode along in the Range Rover were required to assist in navigating boulder-strewn, washed-out trails through narrow mountain passes.
Needless to say, the author also stated that Great Divide Expedition was one of the most memorable experiences of his 25-year career as an auto journalist, but that's just par for the course when you're behind the wheel of the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Among his favorite sections of the trip were traversing Red Cone mountain, heading through Mosquito Pass, the highest road in North America, and the descent into Leadville, Colorado.
