The 2016 Land Rover LR4 first grabs your eye thanks to its traditional looks. It stands tall, with upright sides, sharp corners and a classic British Land Rover design. The car is meant to be taken where the pavement ends, and as such, it comes standard with a height-adjustable air suspension that offers four settings: Access (lower for loading and unloading), Standard, Off-Road, and Extended. Additionally, this durable Land Rover SUV includes the Terrain Response system, which allows the driver to set traction control and other drivetrain parameters to suit the grip conditions with labeled modes like “Mud and Ruts” and “Sand and Dunes.”
Elsewhere in the powertrain, the central-locking differential engages when conditions warrant maximum grip. Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control modes both help to tackle steep slopes that are either loose or slippery. Moreover, two off-road setups are offered on the 2016 Land Rover LR4. The base configuration has a single-speed Torsen transfer case, and the Heavy Duty Package is packed with a two-speed transfer case with active-locking rear differential and full-size spare.
