Range Rover vehicles are about to get even more enticing. The two Range Rover models created by Land Rover are already renowned for their combination of tough exterior looks, killer off-road capability, and cutting-edge interior technologies. Now, the two models are set to receive yet another upgrade: a diesel engine option. Diesel has been popular over in Europe for a while now, but it is starting to catch on in the United States, thanks to its increased environmental friendliness and higher efficiency. Here at Land Rover Northfield, we are already itching to get our hands on these diesel-equipped Range Rover SUVs.

The new diesel engine that is set to be added to both the Range Rover Sport and the full-sized Range Rover is known as the Td6. This engine is already one of the most popular diesel engines in Europe, but it is the first diesel offering from Land Rover in the United States. It has been praised for its exceptional quietness and improved efficiency and performance, achieving a 32 percent torque improvement over its V6 gasoline equivalent. Fuel economy is expected to be 22 miles per gallon in the city, 28 highway, and 25 combined.

In addition to these excellent efficiency and output numbers, the diesel versions of the Range Rover vehicles will also feature handsome looks, premium materials, and a vast array of technologies. The cabin of the diesel version of the 2016 Range Rover is equipped with abundant leather, luxury wood, and satin chrome trims. Meanwhile, the new InControl apps interface is available as a standalone option or packaged with the upgraded Meridian stereo.
