Over the years, Range Rover vehicles have built up a reputation as powerful, no-holds-barred, luxury SUVs. While this is certainly still true, the automaker has recognized that people are looking for a vehicle that can provide excellent fuel economy while still being powerful and luxurious. The newest Range Rover vehicle, known as the 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE Td6, is equipped with a turbodiesel engine and will deliver improved fuel economy over the standard gasoline version of the 2016 Range Rover Sport.

Here at Land Rover Northfield, we know a few things about the new Range Rover Sport near Northbrook. The diesel version will be the first ever diesel Land Rover vehicle on North American shores, and it will be equipped with a turbocharged V6 diesel engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain supplies an impressive 254 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. You can expect to get around 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway.

Just like any other Range Rover Sport vehicle, the new 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE Td6 is an off-road beast, with standard four-wheel-drive, a full-size spare tire, a towing package, sport-tuned suspension, and tow hooks. The four-wheel-drive isn’t an old four-wheel-drive system, either, as it includes low-range gearing and handling-enhancing torque vectoring. The luxuries of the new diesel Range Rover Sport continues on the interior, where you’ll find an eight-inch touchscreen, a navigation system, voice controls, a rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, and a booming eight-speaker sound system with satellite and HD radio and a USB port.
