This scenario has likely happened to a number of Northbrook-area residents: you arrive home, get out of your car, and realize that you left your smartphone back in the car. Or maybe it’s somewhere else. Here at Land Rover Northfield, we know that losing things is a cause of major frustration, which is why we’re thrilled to hear about the new Land Rover Bluetooth tracking system that was announced just last week.

Soon to be found on new Land Rover SUVs, the Bluetooth tracking system will be able to help you locate things that you have lost. A lot of drivers near Northbrook spend a lot of time in their cars and are reliant on their gadgets, which is why it becomes a big deal when you lose one of them. According to Jeff Holland, a spokesman for Jaguar Land Rover, “If you’ve lost it, the car can now tell you it’s missing, where it is, and how to find it.”

The Bluetooth tracking system will be a part of the larger suite of technology services known as InControl Apps. The way it works is that small digital tiles are paired with the system and then attached to items that you tend to carry with you, such as your tablet, purse, or wallet. Your phone can also be tied to the system via Bluetooth. The car then takes an electronic inventory of what is supposed to be inside the car, and if it is missing, the car will notify you and tell you where it is located.
