If you’ve missed out on his television show, “Man vs. Wild,” Bear Grylls is a British adventurer known for his aptitude for wilderness survival. Recently, he took a break from wrestling alligators, eating various insects, and free climbing waterfalls to help promote the new Land Rover Discovery Sport. But because he is still Bear Grylls, he decided to take the unconventional route of jumping out of an airplane to show off a new feature on the upcoming Land Rover vehicle. Here at Land Rover Northfield, we are excited that the tech-filled 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport will be released at our dealership in the coming months.

The 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport will be debuting in Paris later this month. But in order to show off one of the vehicle’s much heralded features, Grylls jumped out of a plane and fiddled with a smartphone on the way back down to Earth. The new feature is known as Intelligent Seat Fold, and it allows owners of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport to reconfigure the back two rows of seats using the Land Rover InControl Remote app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices. With this app, drivers can change the seat positions in as little as 14 seconds.

In order to show off Intelligent Seat Fold, Land Rover told Bear Grylls to change the seat configuration of the car while he was skydiving. It’s unknown how he had Internet access when he was thousands of feet off the ground, but it worked. In addition to this feature, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport will contain other groundbreaking technologies.

Drivers near Deerfield, IL can check out the 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport right here at Land Rover Northfield today.
