Here at Land Rover Northfield, we not only offer Land Rover SUVs for sale near Chicago, but we also keep you up to date on the latest Land Rover news and happenings. We are excited to share the news that the Land Rover brand has recently stated that within the next few years they will roll out new “baby” SUV models. These new luxury SUVs will supposedly draw inspiration from an old model: the Land Rover Freelander.

The Land Rover brand is looking to repeat the success it had with the original Land Rover Freelander, which became a very popular model in Europe in the late 90s. So far, the thinking is that they will launch three new smaller SUV models, potentially arriving in 2021. The idea is for each one of the models to evoke a distinct trait taken from current larger models: Leisure (Land Rover Discovery Sport), luxury (Land Rover Range Rover), and utility (the revamped Land Rover Defender).

Various outlets are dubbing these upcoming Land Rover SUV models “baby” SUVs because of the size of the vehicles. They are expected to be about 13.8 feet in length. The date for the start of production has not been released, but it is believed to be several years before these luxury models hit the lots.

In the meantime, come check out our showroom at your Land Rover dealer in Northbrook. Our experienced staff will be happy to answer any questions you have, whether they be model specific or about financing. We look forward to helping you find the perfect SUV for you!
