The Land Rover brand is known for its fleet of luxurious SUVs with smooth driving dynamics and sleek designs. What people don’t often think about is the level of technology in each Chicago Land Rover car. One awesome new technology feature being tested is one that we think our customers here at Land Rover Northfield will be especially excited about.

Finding a parking spot when visiting a local mall or restaurant can oftentimes be a stressful experience, and the Land Rover engineers understand that. The Land Rover brand is currently testing a new automation feature with its new self-parking valet system. The new tech is being tested using a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport prototype on the roads in Europe.

According to cnet.com, what differentiates the parking valet feature in the luxury SUV prototype is the fact that unlike most semi-automated parking features in other vehicles, the Land Rover system allows for the vehicle to find a parking space and park itself in a fully automated fashion. The driver does not need to shift the transmission manually at all.

This testing is on the heels of an announcement that the Land Rover brand is working on a new Emergency Vehicle Warning system that alerts you to nearby emergency vehicles. It is not known when these features will become fully available.
