Are you ready for a new Land Rover SUV? If you’ve been following us here at Land Rover Northfield at all, you know that we are, and have been for quite a while. We’re talking, again, about the upcoming Land Rover Defender.

Over the last couple of years, Land Rover fans have been keen to learn everything they can about the future of the Land Rover Defender, one of the brand’s most iconic and longest-running vehicles.

Now, ahead of its official release, the automaker is giving us yet another teaser image of the vehicle. However, this image is pretty great and shows the full profile of the SUV. We do not see the whole vehicle. It’s still camouflaged in Tusk Trust graphics, a conservatory program that the automaker has partnered with over the last 15 years.

From what we can see, The Land Rover Defender keeps its big, bold, boxy shape while simultaneously updating its style to match with the current design language.

Drivers in the Northfield, Evanston, and Chicago, IL areas fearing that the new look will hinder its rugged off-road prowess shouldn’t worry. To date, the Land Rover Defender has passed more than 45,000 individual tests across myriad climates including temperature extremes from the desert at 122 degrees to the Arctic at -40 degrees.

"In addition to the extensive simulation and rig testing, we’ve driven new [Land Rover] Defender 1.2 million kilometers across all terrains and in extreme climates to ensure that it is the toughest and most capable Land Rover ever made," said Nick Rogers, executive director of global engineering at Land Rover, according to Auto Week. "The incredible opportunity to put it to the test in the field, supporting operations at the Borana Conservancy in Kenya, with Tusk, will allow our engineers to verify that we are meeting this target as we enter the final phase of our development program."

The final phase is good news as it means we’re finally getting close to the release of the Land Rover Defender. Here at your Northfield Land Rover dealership, we’ll keep you updated as we learn more. For now, visit us for all your Land Rover service needs.
