With winter nearly upon us, there’s no better time to visit your Land Rover service department to make sure your Land Rover SUV is ready for the cold months ahead. Land Rovers are built to last and perform no matter the weather. But there are a few things to keep in mind and to check before winter finally hits.

Top Off Your Fluids

This might seem obvious. But that doesn’t mean it’s not important. The last thing you want when the weather gets cold is for your lines to freeze. The primary fluid you’ll want to make sure is topped up is your antifreeze/coolant. This is also a good time to have your technicians at Land Rover Northfield check and change the rest of your fluids: oil, brake, transmission, power steering, and windshield washer fluid.

Keep an Eye on Your Tires

Even if you’re driving around in a four-wheel drive Land Rover SUV, it won’t help much if your tires are bald. Before winter is the best time to do that. Again, your Land Rover technicians can measure your treads for you. Another option is to switch over to snow tires for the winter months — we can help with that too!

Check Your Brake Components

Just like your tires, you’ll want to make sure your brakes are in top shape before the roads get icy. Land Rover brake pads usually last for at least 30,000 miles depending on driving habits. But it’s still a good idea to have them and your rotors looked at before winter.
